Climate Communication Theory Goes to Washington

Washington, D.C. – Dr. Janet Swim presented a congressional briefing about how to change the way congress and American citizens talk about issues of climate change.  She spoke of the importance of attending to the “head”—knowledge and ideas people already have in mind that influence how they engage in discussion and learning, to the “heart”—motivations—and to the “habitats”—social and physical environments that guide behavior.
