Sea Level Rise

Description:

One of the consequences of climate change and rising global temperatures is melting glacial ice which in turn causes rising sea levels. A sea level rise of one to two meters, which is what is currently estimated to happen by the end of this century, will have globally dramatic consequences.

How to use these materials:

Use these resources to conduct activities that teach the mechanisms of sea level rise related to climate change - from thermal expansion to melting land-based ice. Additional video and images provide more examples of the effect of sea level rise on coastlines.
