Climate Action Academy
We’d like to share your dedication to developing our youth into future community changemakers by inviting you to participate in our second iteration of the Climate Action Academy.
Climate Action Academy is an interactive 10-hour online training designed for middle and high school educators, who seek to empower youth with the knowledge and skills to transform climate concern into action. Over 200 teachers have integrated climate action into their curriculum by participating in the Climate Action Academy.
The virtual program trains educators in climate change, sustainable cities and green solutions. At the end of the training, teachers will have adapted their curriculum to integrate climate-related content into their coursework and will earn a certificate from Climate-KIC.
The program includes 4 modules:
Module 1: Understanding the Climate Crisis Globally and Locally
Module 2: Trends in Climate Education
Module 3: Tools and Activities for Climate Action
Module 4: Lesson Plan Development and Integration
Participants will receive resources about education for climate action, be part of a network of sustainability-minded teachers, and earn a certificate from Climate-KIC. The Climate Action Academy begins the week of January 18, 2021 and requires a commitment of 10 hours of dedication divided into 4 weeks. It has a value of $80 per teacher with scholarships and special group rates available. If you are interested in participating, sign up here: https://bit.ly/climateactionacademy
