The California Academy of Sciences has had a longstanding commitment to climate change education and promoting mitigation and adaptation action. Among our efforts:

• Participated in the first Communicating Climate Change Summit meeting in Monterey, 2008
• Our climate change exhibition in the West Hall: 2 formative evaluations of exhibit completed, 2009, 2010
• 2 x in-depth IMPACT surveys of our visitors on climate change issues completed, 2008, 2010
• Hosted climate change workshop here for Northern California institutions, July 2009
• Co-hosted 2 climate change staff trainings in conjunction with the Aquarium of the Bay, 2011
• Participation in NNOCCI study circle, 2011-12
• Numerous special events, programs, lectures, etc. on climate change since 2008
• Sponsoring Partner for the Bay Area Business Council on Climate Change, 2010-2011
