Why we are involved:

Since 2008, The Florida Aquarium (FLAQ) has received numerous grants to support climate change education. Through teacher workshops, community outreach, teen/tween programs, free lectures, visitor education, and more, FLAQ strives to reach as many audiences as possible throughout Florida and the Gulf region. Strategic partnerships have been key to FLAQ’s success, such as a NOAA grant that also includes Gulf partners: Audubon Aquarium of the Americas, Dauphin Island Sea Lab, Institute for Marine Mammal Studies, Texas State Aquarium, and the Vera Cruz Aquarium. While the content and foci of FLAQ’s climate change programming vary based on the specific program, the overall goal of all climate change programs is quantifiable behavior change.
