Our mission is to expand knowledge about marine mammals—their health and that of their ocean environment—and to inspire their global conservation. Our core work is the rescue and rehabilitation of sick and injured marine mammals, supported by state-of-the-art animal care and research facilities, a corps of dedicated volunteers, and an engaged community. In doing so, we strive to educate and raise awareness to help build a sense of responsibility and connection to the marine environment and marine mammals, and inspire action to protect the oceans.
Climate change is a global problem and we see it affecting the ocean environment in ways that threaten our society and the marine mammals we strive to protect. We can only hope to make positive change through education and raising awareness of the problem and solutions. We will strive to be thought leaders and provide the most reliable, current information, supported by scientific evidence, regarding climate change to our community and beyond. Our hope is that we can spread awareness of the problems and our interconnectedness to the ocean environment and the marine mammals that depend on it, but also focus on the solutions and daily actions that individuals of all ages can perform to make a positive impact for the environment.
