The San Francisco Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve’s mission is to improve understanding and stewardship of the estuary, with a broader relevance to the ecosystems beyond the Golden Gate. The tidal marshes at Rush Ranch and China Camp serve as research sites for scientists; classrooms for teachers, land managers and naturalists; and inspiring places for Bay Area residents to visit. We support training, research, education and stewardship with diverse audiences from students to policymakers, with a focus on climate change, species interactions, water quality and habitat restoration.
The San Francisco Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve has two staff who will be participating in the NNOCCI study circle in Fall of 2014 and is excited to support this work through this amazing network. As an organization, we support green purchasing standards and try to minimize our impact among the individual staff. We also do work focused around raising awareness on climate preparedness in our communities.
